Map of the GR10
The GR10 covers an area of awe-inspiring natural beauty, it stretches 700 kilometres from the Mediteranean sea to the Atlantic and never strays far from the border between France and Spain. The scenery ranges from gentle rolling hills to impressive peaks and gorge, from lush green vegetation to dusty dry peaks, pure mountain lakes with crystal clear waters and water falls punctuate the many mountain streams and rivers.
Hospitality is offered along the way in the form of Gites, hotels and campsites, there are many small villages and towns along the way and the atmosphere is less commercialised than the French alps. Accomodation may be found along the way in the form of Gîtes, hotels and campsites - some Gîtes offer the bare essentials, usually a kitchen to cook in and a bed. Whilst our establishment Gîte La Maisonnée is classed as a Gîte, it is more comfortable than most and we hope you will visit the section 'look around the Gîte' to see for yourself.
The Pyrenees is still a great unspoilt wilderness, whilst there are ski stations and villages, they are low-key and the area is far less commercialised than many other mountain areas in Europe. Summer walking is a delight with Mediterranean weather and many crystal clear mountain lakes and waterfalls allow you to cool off in should you get too hot.
